redstone is a gateway drug to programming
If you've been exploring the site for a while, you may have wondered why some of the background images were of Minecraft recreations of Disney theme park rides. Well, here's your explanation:
For over 12 years now, I've been an active player of Minecraft. I also made a ton of things inside Minecraft with other folks who spend their free time meticulously creating detailed and interactive theme parks within them. It ain't much, but it's honest work.
When I started, our tools were pretty limited. Nowadays though, modern plugins and mods allow us to push the boundaries of what's possible with simple vanilla Minecraft.
Below is a catalogue of everything I've ever worked on that's been archived in some way.
Active Teams & Projects
These are teams or servers that I'm currently working with, and there's a chance you can check out what we're doing right now!
Fuse Entertainment
Founded 2018 - Currently operating on
Fuse is a group of friends working to build high-quality, hand-crafted, and immersive theme parks in Minecraft: Java Edition. We started over 8 years and we're still hard at work on our parks! If you want to see some of what we've done (or even visit our projects in-game). I'm one of the main owners of this team alongside Clockwork2002, and our plans for our parks are only getting better.
Our current project is Fuse Resort: MagicWorks, a full-scale theme park resort currently in production on MagicWorksMC inspired by (but not exactly) Walt Disney World. Just recently, we launched Fuse's Wild Adventure Park which you can visit right now in Minecraft Java Edition!
To visit Fuse Entertainment, please see the information on the Fuse Website.
MagicWorksMC
Joined 2021 - Engineer
It's all in the works on MagicWorks!
MagicWorksMC is a theme park server started over a decade ago but only recently went public again. I joined their team back in 2021, and it's where I've had the blessing to work with tons of talented individuals to create even cooler things. It's also where Fuse Entertainment is working on our resort projects going forward.
The server is now open to all guests, although we're still actively working on the parks so some things may not be open yet. You can visit Fuse's Wild Adventure Park though and check out the Creative plotworld, and very soon there'll be more offerings that are getting really close to being open...
To visit MagicWorksMC, please see the information on the MagicWorks Discord.
You can also check out the Fuse Website as well which has information about the server IP and supported versions.
Closed Teams / Projects
These projects/teams have either concluded, ceased production, or have been forced to end development due to external factors (such as the host server they were being operated on shutting down). Still, I loved the opportunity to work on them and you can likely check out some archives of them below!
Solar7 Adventure
Joined 2017, Closed 2021 - Manager
Solar7 Adventure Park was a theme park built entirely in Minecraft on the now-defunct Palace Network Creative server. Throughout its existence, the team created a variety of amazing attractions that pushed the limits of what was possible with Redstone and Vanilla Minecraft.
Most people probably knew us from our recreations of Rise of the Resistance and Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway, the videos of which have obtained thousands of views.
Now that the server has been closed, the Solar7 Adventure YouTube Channel serves as an archive for some of the projects that the amazing team worked on while it was still open.
The team consisted of (but are not limited to) the following MC Java players: Solarsystem7, Luke1205, Dr_Orlando, ThePlasmo, TheWuffle, Nummbers, One_of_a_Kind, Mr_Minecrafterx, DisQuick, and of course myself.
ThemeParkCon
Started 2017, Ended 2021 - Organizer
ThemeParkCon was a yearly convention hosted by Fuse Entertainment every summer on the Palace Network Creative server, with the goal to showcase and celebrate the creations of the Creative server community. Other teams creating theme parks, shows, or other entertainment-adjacent projects would create booths and host panels in a virtual event space inside one of Fuse's old plots, Epicentral.
It was hosted for 3 years (skipping 2019), with 2020's event being the biggest turnout the event had ever seen. Over 50 registered participants and tons of guests attending panels and booths. While not much remains from this sadly, there are a few screenshots and documents created from the 2020 event that archive the kinds of things people were doing back then. While not the most impressive event or project I've worked on per se, it was definitely one of my favorites, because we got to use Fuse's influence to be able to shine a spotlight on other creators just like us. Genuinely, I've got some great memories from back then.
Upon Palace's announcement of the reset of Creative in early 2021, TPC was discontinued and Fuse Entertainment left the server entirely, ceasing the TPC brand.
While TPC archives are really only limited to a few screenshots and documents, SorcererAndrew recorded all the chat logs from the panel events so you can go back and pretend like you were really there.
You can also check out the old Fuse Entertainment 2020 Annual Report, which talks more specifically about the event and other projects we were doing at the time. The link for it is under the Fuse Resort: Palace section.
There are also some screenshots I have from back then but I'll probably put them in the site later. Stay tuned!
Fuse Resort: Palace
Started 2017, Closed 2021
Fuse Resort: Palace was Fuse Entertainment's debut resort project on the Palace Network Creative server. Once Fuse was founded in June of 2018, both Clockwork2002 and I consolidated our separate park projects under the Fuse umbrella, including Fantasy Valley and TomorrowVerse theme parks.
Both of our parks projects were started on the server around 2017, and both of them were open before Fuse was established, so technically this project started in 2017 even though Fuse began in 2018.
We made tons of stuff in this resort, from upgrading our own original parks to match the quality standards of Fuse to creating new ones. By the time Fuse left Palace Creative, we had a total of 6 plots:
- Fantasy Valley, a theme park taking inspiration from Disney's many castle parks
- TomorrowVerse, a theme park inspired by Tomorrowland and EPCOT Center about the future and human progress
- EpiCentral, sort of like an event and shopping district which was used for ThemeParkCon
- Fuse's Hollywood Adventure, a park inspired by Hollywood Studios which never opened despite ample development
- Fuse's Natural Kingdom, which was eventually cancelled and reworked into Fuse's Wild Adventure Park on MagicWorks
- A testing and development plot for storage and other uses
Many guests visited and enjoyed Fuse Resort: Palace's many offerings over the years we were active, and we were constantly pushing ourselves to do more for them. It was a really fun time. However, in early 2021, the Creative server we were hosted on announced that Creative would be reset, and alongside other broken promises and frustrations with Palace management at the time, Fuse Entertainment decided to leave Palace and seek for a new server to create on. With that, Fuse Resort: Palace was discontinued, and eventually was erased alongside the rest of the Palace Network upon the network's swift closure in July 2021.
While most of Fuse's properties were saved, they are not made public due to a variety of reasons. One day we'd like to change that, but until then, you can check out tons of things we made for the company and the resort back then, including:
- The Fuse 2020 Annual Report, created in early 2021 which talks about how Fuse's operations, events, and parks did in 2020 (yes we made an annual report for fun)
- The Fuse Resort Palace YouTube Archive, containing basically all of the videos we made for the project, including trailers, teasers, and development footage
- The Fuse History Timeline on the Fuse Website, cataloging a rough timeline of events throughout the years after Fuse was established
- The Fuse18 Club on the Palace Forums, which was a hub for announcements and other resort information. Some things like the CSS on certain pages may be broken there, but a good amount of content was archived if you're willing to suffer through unstyled pages.
File hosting provided by Catbox!
Unfortunately, as most of these works were done on Creative servers, not everything was saved or archived. This isn't everything I've ever done, but it is some of the most notable projects that you can see something about.
